Hash Brown Potato Casserole

1/2 cup butter
1 pint sour cream
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
10 3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup diced onion
1 lb. hash brown potatoes
Heat butter with soup. Blend in the rest of the ingredients. Stir in thawed potatoes. Place in a 9 x13 glass baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick spray or buttered. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
