4 eggs
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1½ c. sifted flour
1½ tsp. baking powder
1½ c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat eggs in top of double boiler just until blended. Blend in sugar and butter; place over rapidly boiling water, stirring constantly just until hot, about 5 min. Remove from heat. Sift together flour, baking powder, add all at once to cooked mixture; mix until well blended. Stir in nut meats and vanilla. Turn into well-greased and lightly floured 13x9" pan. Bake in mod. oven (350) for 25-30 min. until it springs back when touched lightly in the center. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream, or sprinkle while warm with powdered sugar.
