    1 c butter
    1 c sugar
    2 eggs
    1-1/4 c flour
    1/8 t salt
    1 t baking powder
    3 t almond extract
    1/3 c boiling water
    Chocolate glaze

    Recipe



    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy
    Add eggs and mix well
    Gradually add flour sifted with baking powder and salt. Beat thoroughly
    Add almond extract and boiling water. Mix well
    Pour into greased 9" or 10" spring-form or tube pan
    Bake 350° for 30 minutes
    Reduce heat to 325° for last 30 minutes
    Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan

    Glaze:

    1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp cocoa, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 drops almond extract, 3 tsp warm water
    Decorate with whole blanched almonds
