Peach Blossom Angel Food

1 reg. pkg. (4 servings) vanilla pudding
milk
½ tsp. almond extract
1 1-lb. 6 oz. can peach pie filling
1 6" packaged angel food cake
½ c. heavy cream
¼ c. slivered almonds
Prepare pudding according to package directions, using ¼ cup less milk than the amount called for on the package. Cool; then stir in almond extract. Reserve half cup of the pudding; fold peach pie filling into the remainder. Cut cake into ½" slices and arrange in a standing row around edge of a 2-qt. rectangular baking dish. Tear any remaining cake slices into small pieces and fold into pudding; pour pudding into cake-lined baking dish. Whip cream until it holds its shape and fold in the reserved ½ c. pudding. Spoon over top of pudding and garnish with almonds. Chill. Serves 8. Chill 2-3 hrs. Recipe
