Black Beans with Ham Hocks

1 bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp cumin or to taste
1 tsp pepper (black)
Salt to taste
2 ham hocks
1 bay leaf
Hot sauce to taste
2 tbsp butter
1 lb black beans
Recipe
Let beans soak overnight.
Combine bell pepper, onion, garlic, ham hocks, bay leaf and butter lightly fry. Combine pan mixture with beans in same juice. Add hot sauce to taste.
Simmer for 4-5 hours or until beans are tender.
Serve over rice with green onions.
