    Hamburger Magic Stroganoff Style

    Source of Recipe

    Internet

    List of Ingredients

8 ounces dry egg noodles, about 4 cups
    1 cup instant powdered milk
    2 tablespoons dry onion
    1/2 teaspoon paprika
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper

Combine all of the dry ingredients in a plastic zip lock bag, or a resealable container, or even a brown paper lunch bag for that matter. The point is to get all of the ingredients together in a container so it can sit on the pantry shelf. I usually mix up 5 of these at a time, for convenience sake.

    To Cook:
    1 pound ground beef
1 package Stroganoff Style Hamburger Magic (above)
4 ounce can mushroom stems & pieces
    4 cups water
1/2 to 1 cup yogurt or sour cream

Get out a very large skillet. Fry the hamburger in it, breaking it up into small pieces with a fork. When it is cooked all the way through, drain off all the fat. Add the water, canned mushrooms (undrained), and the contents of the Hamburger Magic package. Bring the mixture to a boil, and reduce the heat. It should simmer gently. You can put a lid on it if you like, but stir it rather often, because it has a tendency to stick. Cook the mixture for about 20 minutes, or until the noodles are tender to your taste. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the yogurt or sour cream. Don't boil the mixture after stirring in the yogurt or it will curdle. If desired, you may add a very small squirt of catsup and/or Worcestershire sauce for flavor. Serve hot with a green vegetable.
