Almond Shortbread

1 1/4 c flour
1/3 c unblanched almonds, finely chopped
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c butter
1/3 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
1/2 c semisweet chocolate bits
powdered sugar Recipe
Combine flour, almonds and salt.
Beat together butter, sugar, vanilla and almond extract until creamy.
Stir in flour mixture.
Divide the dough into 4 balls.
On greased baking sheet pat or roll out each ball of dough to 4 1/2 " rounds. Press tines of fork all around edge. Cut each round into 6 equal wedges, but do not pull the wedges apart.
Bake 350° for 12-14 minutes until lightly browned at edges.
While hot, recut the rounds into wedges and remove to wire rack to cool.
Melt chocolate bits, and drizzle over wedges. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
