1 can condensed milk
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon peel
2/3 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1-3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cup oats
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. To make lemon filling, blend milk, juice and lemon peel until thick. Mix shortening and sugar together. Blend the dry ingredients, except oats, into the shortening and make crumb mixture. Stir in oats. Place 1/2 of the crumb mixture into a greased 9x13 pan, press and flatten. Spread the lemon filling on crumb crust and sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
