Chocolate Sugar Plum Cookies

3 cups flour
1-1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 squares BAKER'S Unsweetened Baking Chocolate, melted
Recipe
HEAT oven to 350°F.
MIX flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl; set aside. Beat butter in another large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Gradually beat in flour mixture until well combined. Blend in chocolate.
ROLL dough to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly floured surface. Cut with assorted 3-inch cookie cutters. Sprinkle with colored sugar, if desired. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
BAKE 10 to 12 minutes until edges begin to brown. Cool on wire rack. Frost plain cooled cookies, if desired. Store in loosely covered container to keep crisp.
