Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup (2 sticks) regular margarine, softened
1 egg
1/4 cup milk or strong coffee
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa, preferably Dutch process
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup mini chocolate chips
Recipe
Cream margarine, sugars, egg, milk and vanilla with electric mixer.
Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in oats and chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Makes 48 cookies.
