    2 T currants or raisins
    1 T hot water
    2 tsp rum extract
    1/4 c. (1/2 stick)butter or margarine
    1/4 c sugar
    1 egg
    1/3 c all purpose flour

    Recipe



    Combine raisins, water, and rum extract in small bowl; let stand about 1 hour to blend flavors. Heat butter until soft in medium bowl with electric mixer at high speed; beat in sugar, then egg, beating until fluffy; stir in flour and raisin mixture. Drop batter by tsp, about 1 1/2" apart, on well greased cookie sheet. Bake in hot oven (425F) 5 minutes, or until edges are golden. Remove to racks to cool.

    Makes 5 dozen.
