    1 cup persimmon pulp
    1/2 Tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/2 Tsp. baking soda
    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 Tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 Tsp. ground cloves
    2 cups all purpose flour
    1 cup chopped walnuts
    1 cup raisins
    1 egg, beaten

    In a mixing bowl, combine persimmon pulp and baking soda, set aside. In a separate bowl mix the butter, and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamed smooth. Combine the cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and flour. Stir in walnuts and raisins. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Mix together well. Now add the egg to the reserved persimmon mixture. Add the persimmon mixture to the butter mixture, blend all together, well. Drop the dough by the teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven 25 to 30 minutes or until done. Transfer the cookies to a rack to cool.
