Raspberry Almond Shortbread Cookies

Preheat oven to 350
2/3 cup sugar
1 cup butter softened
1/2 tsp, almond extract
2 cups flour
1/2 cup raspberry jam
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1-1/2 tsp almond extract
2-3 tsp water Recipe
In large bowl combine sugar, butter & almond
Beat at medium until creamy
Add flour, mix well
Cover, chill dough 1 hour
Shape dough in 1" balls
Make dent in center with thumb
Fill with 1/2 tsp jam
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 14-18 minutes or until edges are slightly brown
Cool completely
Drizzle glaze on top
Makes about 3 dozen
These cookies are really simple, but they taste like it took a lot of work
