Creamy Pork with Cornmeal Biscuits

1/4 c. onion, chopped
3/4 t. garlic powder
2 tart green apples, peeled, cored,sliced
2 t. sugar
1/2 t. sage
1/4 t. nutmeg
1/8 t. white pepper
2-2 1/2 lbs. boneless porkloin, trimmed & cut into 1-inch cubes
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. white cooking wine
1 1/2 T. cornstarch
1/3 c. whipping cream
salt to taste

In crockpot, combine onion, garlic, apples, sugar, sage, nutmeg, and white pepper. Coat pork cubes with flour and then arrange over mixture in crockpot.
Pour in cooking wine. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 4-5 hours. Approximately 30-60 minutes before serving prepare the cornmeal biscuits as described below. While biscuits are baking, mix cornstarch and whipping cream in a small bowl. Pour into pork mixture and stir. Increase crockpot to high if it has been cooking on low. Continue to cook until sauce is hot and bubbly. Season to taste with salt. Serve.
Cornmeal Biscuits
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 T. baking powder
1 t. sugar
1/2 t. salt
Dice 1/3 c. margarine
Preheat Oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl, stir together and cut into flour mixture until it looks like coarse crumbs. Add 3/4 c. plain nonfat yogurt; stir just until mixture forms a sticky dough. On floured surface, roll out dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut biscuits. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
