    2 qt cider vinegar
    1 med-sized onion, washed, peeled, and sliced
    2 tblsp dry mustard
    2 tblsp salt
    1/2 oz white ginger root
    2 tblsp whole cloves
    2 (three-inch) sticks cinnamon, broken
    1 tblsp whole peppercorns
    1 tblsp powdered cloves
    1/2 lb (1 3/8 cups packed) brown sugar
    2 qt midget cucumbers, washed and drained

    Recipe



    Mix all ingredients, except cucumbers, together in a 1-gallon crock, or large glass jar. Add cucumbers. Cover crock or jar with folded cheesecloth, then with lid. Let stand in cool dark place at least 1 month before using. Better if allowed to stand 3 months. Makes 2 quarts pickles.
