    1 1/4 cups sugar, divided
    3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
    1/2 cup sour cream
    2 large eggs
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 cups chopped, peeled apples (about 2 medium)
    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350F.
    Coat a 9-inch springform pan with cooking spray.
    Combine 1 cup sugar and butter in a large bowl.
    Beat with an electric mixer on high speed until light and fluffy.
    Add sour cream and eggs; beat until blended.
    Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
    Add to butter mixture; beat until blended.
    Stir in apples.
    Spread batter in prepared pan.
    Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
    Sprinkle over batter in pan.
    Bake coffee cake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 55-65 minutes.
    Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes.
    Remove side of pan.
    Serve warm or cool.
