3 eggs
2 cups granulated sugar
2 sticks margarine
1/2 cup water
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate bits
2 cups grated apples
1 tablespoon vanilla


Recipe



Cream together until fluffy 3 eggs, 2 cups granulated sugar, 2 sticks margarine and 1/2 cup water. Sift together 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour, 2 tablespoons cocoa, 1 teaspoon each baking soda, cinnamon and allspice. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.

Fold in 1 cup finely chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate bits, 2 cups grated apples and 1 tablespoon vanilla, and mix until distributed evenly.

Spoon into greased and floured 10-inch loose-bottom tube pan. Bake at 325° in oven for 60-70 minutes until cake tests done. Serves 12.
