    Cake
    1 Cup chopped pecans or walnuts
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 3 1/2 oz box vanilla or French vanilla instant pudding
    4 eggs
    1/2 Cup cold water
    1/2 Cup oil
    1/2 Cup pancake syrup

    Glaze
    1 stick of real butter
    1/4 Cup water
    1 Cup granulated sugar
    1/2 Cup pancake syrup

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan or a 12 inch Bundt pan.
    Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan. Mix all cake ingredients together. Pour batter over nuts. Bake approx. 45-60 min. depending on your oven. Cool and invert onto a large serving plate. Prick top with a fork or skewer allover and deeply. Don't worry about making holes. Drizzle and smooth glaze over top and sides allowing it to absorb as you go. Repeat till glaze is used up. For glaze, melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar and pancake syrup. Bring to a boil and let boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Optional: Decorate with whole maraschino cherries and a border of whipped cream or cool whip. Serve with seedless grapes dusted with confectioners sugar. Looks very pretty at Christmas with red and green cherries.
