    1 c. Crisco
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs, beaten
    3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 c. blackberry jam
    1 c. pecan pieces
    1 c. raisins, cooked 5 minutes
    and drained

    Recipe



    Sift together all dried ingredients (sugar, flour, soda and spices) in a large bowl. Mix melted Crisco, eggs, jam, pecans, raisins and buttermilk. Then beat about 4 minutes.

    Blend in dry ingredients. Pour into 3 greased layer
    cake pans (9-inch). Bake about 25 minutes in 350 degrees oven or until cake is done. Ice with your favorite icing for jam cake.
