Caramel-Brownie Cheesecake

1 3/4 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
1/4 cup melted margarine
14-ounce package caramel candies (about 48 pieces)
5-ounce can evaporated milk
2 cups coarsely crumbled brownies (unfrosted)
3 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 large eggs
8-ounce carton sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
Recipe
Combine wafers and margarine, stir well. Press mix firmly in bottom and 2 inches up side wall of 9-inch springform pan. Bake at 350 degrees for five minutes. Let cool on wire rack.
Combine caramel and milk in small, heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat, stir often until melted. Pour mix over crust and sprinkle with brownie crumbs. Beat cream cheese at medium speed for two minutes, or until fluffy. Gradually add sugar and eggs, until blended.
Stir in sour cream and vanilla. Pour into prepared crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Let cool to room temperature on wire rack. Cover and chill for four hours.
