Chocolate Angel Pie

2 egg whites
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3 tablespoons hot water
1 cup heavy cream whipped with 1 tsp vanilla
Recipe
Line pie plate well with butter. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Add sugar 2 tsp. at a time, beating well after each addition until stiff peaks form. Line well-greased pie plate with meringue mixture. Bake in 200 degrees oven for one hour. Leave in oven overnight.
Filling: melt chocolate morsels in top of double boiler until thickened. Cool approxminately 20 to 30 minutes. Whip cream with vanilla and fold in chocolate mixture.
