Chocolate Fudge Pudding Cake

2/3 cup sugar
5 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 1/3 cups boiling water Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degreesF. Grease a 9-inch square pan. Combine 2/3 cup sugar and 5 Tbs cocoa; sprinkle evenly over bottom of prepared pan and set aside. Mix flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 3 Tbs cocoa, baking powder and salt; set aside. Mix 3 Tbs butter, egg, milk and extracts; add to dry ingredients, stirring to combine. Stir in almonds. Combine 6 Tbs butter and boiling water; pour over cocoa mixture in baking pan, without stirring. Drop batter by tablespoonful into pan. Bake 35-40 minutes. Cool 15-20 minutes.
