Lemon Sour Cream Pound Cake

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups cake flour or soft wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon pure lemon extract
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Grease and flour a bundt or large loaf pan. In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter, shortening, sour cream, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together flour and baking powder.
In a separate bowl, combine milk, vanilla, and lemon extracts.
Add 1/3 of the milk mixture and 1/3 of the flour mixture to the mixing bowl and incorporate. Continue adding this way until all ingredients are mixed in. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the cake starts to brown too much, cover with aluminum foil. Makes 8 o 10 servings.
