    2 sticks butter
    3 cups sugar
    6 large eggs, beaten
    3 cups self-rising flour
    1 cup milk
    2 tablespoons spiced rum
    2 teaspoons lemon flavoring
    1 teaspoon almond flavoring

    The secret is to start this cake out in a cold oven. Grease and flour a tube pan (you know, the pound cake pan with a hole). In a large bowl, cream your butter and sugar and add eggs one at a time. Add the flour and milk slowly. “A bit of flour, stir. A bit of milk, stir. A bit of flour, stir.” When all is mixed well, add the spiced rum, lemon flavoring, and almond flavoring, and stir them in. Pour your cake mix into the greased and floured pan and place it in the oven. Set your oven for 325 degrees and bake for about one hour. Check the cake with a toothpick. If the top starts to brown, just cover the cake with foil. Total cooking time is around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
