    Mix the following well:
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    1 1/2 C. sugar
    3 eggs
    2 t. vanilla
    2 t. rum
    1 t. blackstrap molasses

    Sift together and add to wet ingredients:
    2 C. unbleached organic white flour
    1 C. soft whole wheat pastry flour
    1 1/2 t. baking powder
    1 1/2 t. baking soda
    1/4 t. salt

    While adding dry mix to wet, stir in:
    1 C. plain yogurt
    1 C. sour cream.

    Mix for filling/topping:
    3/4 C. organic sugar
    3/4 C. chopped walnuts
    3/4 C. sliced almonds
    1 C. currants
    2 t. cinnamon

    Recipe



    Layer cake in a well-oiled angel food cake pan: 1/2 batter, 1/2 filling, 1/2 batter, 1/2 topping. Bake for one hour at 350F.
