    Dough:
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp each salt, sugar, cinnamon
    2/3 c shortening
    2 Tbls chilled butter

    Filling:
    6 cups apples (I use granny smith)
    1/2 c brown sugar
    1 Tbls cornstarch
    1/2 tsp each cinnamon and nutmeg

    Recipe



    Mix together flour and seasonings, add shortening and butter, a little at a time, blend until coarse.
    Add 4 Tbls cold water, mix, roll into a ball and refrigerate.

    Preheat oven to 450°F.
    Peel, core and slice thinly the apples.
    Mix in the sugar, cornstarch and spices.
    Mix together 1/2 cup blackberries (if frozen thaw first) and about 1 tsp of cornstarch.
    Roll out dough, line pie tin, add apples, then sprinkle blackberries on top.
    Roll out rest of dough, place on top and cut 4 slits in top (Or however you want to do your pie crust).
    Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes.
    Turn down oven to 350°F and bake for another 30 minutes or until crust is lightly browned and pie is bubbling.
