    Brown Bag Apple Pie

    5 large Jonathan apples
    2 T lemon juice
    2 T flour
    ½ cup sugar
    1 t apple pie spice
    ½ t cinnamon
    1 unbaked pie shell

    Peel and slice apples, toss with lemon juice, then add remaining ingredients and place in unbaked pie shell.

    Topping:

    ½ cup sugar
    ½ cup flour
    1 stick margarine, softened

    Mix ingredients until crumbly. Place over apples. Place pie in a large heavy paper bag and fold end over twice, and secure with large paper clips.

    Bake in 400-degree oven for 1 hour. Do not peek. Remove bag from oven. Carefully open bag, making sure to avoid any steam that may escape while opening. Place on wire rack to cool.

    Pie will do fine if left alone, and bag will not catch fire.
