Crawlin Cake (Icing In The Mix Cake)

    Source of Recipe

    Internet

    List of Ingredients

1 box cake mix (see variations below)
    4 whole eggs
3/4c oil (for Spice Cake - I used caramel applesauce instead.)
    1 c. milk
2 cans frosting (one to mix in, one to frost)

    Preheat oven to 350*
Break eggs into a mixing bowl and beat by hand.
Add all remaining ingredients EXCEPT frosting.
Mix well by hand. Fold in frosting & mix well.
Grease and flour a 12cup tube or angel food cake pan.
Pour mix in evenly, place cake pan on a cookie sheet and place in the oven.
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
If you want, only use 2/3 of the frosting in the mix.
Microwave the remainder until soft and drizzle over the cake.

NOTE: Do NOT use a mixer to make this cake. It incorporates too much air into the batter and the cake will overflow in the oven. Hence the name "Crawlin Cake".

These can be made in any size pan you want - muffin pans, 9x13 or however. If you are using muffin tins only fill 1/2 full to keep from 'crawlin' out of the cups.

    Variations:
Use Spice Cake Mix and Caramel Frosting
Use Carrot Cake mix and Cream Cheese Frosting
Use German Chocolate Cake Mix with Butter Pecan Frosting
Use Chocolate Cake Mix with Chocolate Triple Fudge Frosting
Use Red Velvet Cake Mix with Cream Cheese Frosting
Use Lemon Cake Mix with Cream Cheese Frosting
Use White Cake Mix with White Almond Frosting
Use Orange Supreme Cake Mix with Cream Cheese Frosting (tastes like a creamsicle)
Use Cinnamon Swirl Cake Mix with Cream Cheese Frosting
Use Cherry Chip Cake Mix with White Almond Frosting OR
Use your imagination – the possibilities are endless!
