    Crust:
    1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    2 cups graham cracker crumbs
    2 tablespoons sugar

    Filling:
    4 oz. Baker's German sweet baking chocolate, broken into squares
    4 tablespoons unsalted butter
    1-2/3 cup evaporated milk
    1-1/2 cups sugar
    1 tablespoon cornstarch
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 large eggs, room temperature
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1-1/2 cups sweetened, shredded coconut
    1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Bake at 375º. Make the crust by combining the three ingredients together. Press into a lightly buttered 9" pie plate. Place on a baking sheet and bake 10 minutes. Make the filling by melting chocolate and butter in medium pan, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and slowly stir in milk. In a small bowl, mix the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Slowly blend this into the chocolate mixture. Pour into pastry. Sprinkle with coconuts and pecans. Bake 40-45 minutes. Allow to cool 30 minutes, then refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour.

    Serves 6-8.
