Peanut Butter Cream Pound Cake

3 cups sugar
6 eggs
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/3 cup solid shortening
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
2 tsp. baking powder
3 cups plain flour
dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
2 sticks butter
Recipe
vanilla flavoring. Pour into tube pan already greased and floured. Bake in preheated 325 degree F. oven for appx. 1 hour and 30 minutes. Check after an hour, then every 10 minutes. As soon as cake comes out of oven, cook icing and pour over while still hot. If in Bundt pan, all will not fit in, just discard leftover or save and bake a couple of cupcakes.
Peanut Butter Glaze Icing
1/2 pkg 10x sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup milk
Combine all ingredients in sauce pan on medium to low heat until creamy. Pour over hot cake.
