    4-1/2 cup sugar, separated
    3 cup all purpose flour
    3 sticks + 2 tbsp butter
    8 oz Cream Cheese
    8 eggs
    1 tbsp. Lemon flavor
    1 tbsp. Vanilla flavor
    4 tbsp. Cornstarch
    2 tbsp grated lemon rind
    2/3 cup lemon juice
    1 cup water
    1 can pineapple chunks

    Cream 3 sticks butter and 3 cup sugar until fluffy, add cream cheese and beat until blended. Add 6 eggs one at a time, then add flour, lemon and vanilla flavorings. Beat until smooth, about 5 minutes. Divide equally intro three 9 inch round cake pans. Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees or until center tests done. Remove allow to cool completely before icing. Thoroughly mix remaining 1-1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch, add lemon rind and juice, water, 2 beaten eggs , 2 tbsp butter and pineapple. Blend well. Cook over boiling water, stirring until thickened. Let cool and frost cake.
