Mexican Fruitcake

1 (20 ounces) can crushed pineapple with juice
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts
Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 stick margarine
1 (8 ounces) package cream cheese
1 box 10X powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
Recipe
Add pineapple, juice and all, to soda. Mix and set aside. Sift flour, sugar, and salt together. Add pineapple mixture and stir. Add eggs and stir. Add walnuts. Pour batter into greased and floured 9-by-13-inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees about 30 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool. Top with frosting.
Cream Cheese Frosting: Cream together margarine and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar and vanilla to make spreading consistency. Smooth frosting over top of cake and sprinkle with nuts.
