    2 eggs well beaten
    1-1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. lard (shortening)
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    2-1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. blackberry jam
    1/2 c. strawberry jam
    1/2 c. cherry jam
    1/2 c. nuts

    Recipe



    Cream lard and sugar together
    Add to well beaten eggs
    Add soda to buttermilk
    Sift flour and add cinnamon and allspice
    Mix all together well for 2 minutes
    Add jam and nuts. Beat well for 1 minute
    Bake 1 hour at 275
