Strawberry Soda-Pop Cake

1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 sm. carton Cool Whip
1 1/4 c. strawberry pop
1 sm. box instant vanilla pudding
1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. cold milk
1 sm. pkg. strawberry jell-o
Bake yellow cake mix according to package in 9"x13" cake pan. Mix strawberry jell-o into boiling water; stir until dissolved. Slowly add strawberry pop (will foam).
Punch holes in warm cake with a fork, twisting slightly to open the holes. While the cake is still warm, spoon jell-o mixture over cake. Spoon slowly to allow jell-o/pop mixture to soak down into the holes in the cake. Set in refrigerator until completely cool.
In a medium bowl, add pudding mix to cold milk; stir until well blended. Fold cool whip into pudding mix and blend gently. Spread over chilled cake. Keep refrigerated. (This cake tastes better if allowed to sit for 3-4 hours before serving.)
