1 heaping cup of chopped apples
1 cup of sugar
1 cup flour
1 teas. baking soda
1 teas. cinnamon
1/2 This. salt
1 egg
1/4 cup cold water
1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Recipe



Chop apples into a big bowl.
Add the rest of the ingredients and stir till blended.
Place batter in a greased and floured 8" square pan and bake at between 325º and 350º degrees for 1 hour
This recipe doubles well and may be made in a 9" X 13"--checking for doneness after 1 hr. with toothpick.
Serve plain or with whipped topping
