    1/4 c shortening
    1/2 c sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 c flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp baking soda
    1/8 tsp salt
    1/2 c sour cream
    3/4 c finely chopped, peeled apple
    1/4 c chopped nuts
    1/4 c brown sugar
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1 T butter, melted

    Recipe



    Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat well

    Combine flour, baking powder, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Fold in apple. Spread batter in greased 8x8x2" baking pan.

    Combine nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter, sprinkle over batter. Bake 350° 30-35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
