2 cups sugar
2 cups golden raisins
2 cups milk
1 cup sweet butter
4 cups all-purpose flour (SIFTED 2 TIMES)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
8 oz glaceed cherries
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350º. Lightly greased a tube or bundt pan.
Stir together sugar, raisins, milk and butter in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, pour into a bowl, and let cool.
In another bowl, combine and sift flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and cherries, and stir to mix. Add flour mixture to the sugar mixture and mix well.
Pour into pan. Bake for hour.
Cool on a rack.
