Cherry Pound Cake

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
1 cup sweet butter
5 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cherry extract
1 cup milk
1/2 cup cherries in juice, chopped
Recipe
Cream sugar, Crisco, butter, add eggs one at a time. Add flour, baking powder, salt and cherry extract alternately with milk. Beat until creamy. Stir in cherries with juice
Bake in greased bundt pan or tube pan at 325º for one hour and then increase heat to 350º for 30 minutes
