Kentucky Butter Bundt Cake

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
1 cup butter, room temperature
2 tsp. vanilla extract
4 large eggs
Sauce:
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup butter
3 Tbsp. water
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Recipe
Preheat oven to 325°. Grease and flour a 12 cup Bundt pan or 10" tube pan.
In a large bowl, combine all cake ingredients; beat on low speed until moistened. Beat for about 3 minutes
at medium speed. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake at 325° for 50 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine sauce ingredients; cook just until butter melts, stirring occasionally. Do not bring to a boil.
Pierce the cake all over with a fork then pour the hot sauce over the warm cake. Let stand 5 minutes, or until sauce is absorbed.
