Sour Cream Spice Cake

1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. ground cloves
3/4 tsp. allspice
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. sour whipping cream (make it sour with a little lemon juice)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. lemon extract


Recipe



Sift dry ingredients together and set aside. Beat eggs in small bowl till very thick; gradually add sugar. Transfer egg mixture to larger bowl. Stir in flour mixture alternately with sour cream and extracts. Pour into 1 greased, floured 9" square baking pan. Bake at 350 35-40 min. Cool. Frost with Caramel Frosting or serve plain.
