List of Ingredients
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 t. ground cinnamon
1/2 t. salt
12 T. (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 c. (3 1/2 oz.) walnuts, chopped
1 c. plain yogurt
1 lg. egg
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1 t. vanilla extract
1 c. (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
Recipe
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13X9X2 inch pan.
In a lg. bowl, mix flour, sugars, 1 t. of cinnamon, and salt. Rub with fingers to break up any lumps of brown sugar. Add butter and stir with a spoon, until damp and crumbly. Take out 3/4 c. of mixture and put it into a small bowl. Add remaining 1/2 t. cinnamon and walnuts and mix with fingers; this will be the topping.
Put yogurt, egg, baking powder, baking soda, and vanilla into another small bowl; beat with a fork until well mixed; stir in chocolate chips. Scrape into flour mixture in large bowl; stir until incorporated. Scrape into prepared pan; sprinkle with topping.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes, until lightly browned and a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Place pan on a wire rack to cool.
