Beef & Nacho Casserole

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
1 1/4 cups chopped onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup sour cream
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (7-ounce) can green chilies, chopped
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1 (3 1/2-ounce) can medium black olives, drained and sliced
1 (8-ounce) package tortilla chips, divided
3 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Paprika (optional)
1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
Recipe
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 3-quart oblong baking dish.
In large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef and sausage. Add onions and garlic. Saut� until onions are almost tender and meats are browned. Drain. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in sour cream, tomato sauce, green chilies, tomato paste and olives until blended. Heat through. (Do not boil.) Re-move from heat.
In prepared dish, layer 2/3 of tortilla chips, meat mixture, remaining tortilla chips and cheese. Sprinkle on paprika to taste. (If making ahead, cover and let stand at room temperature for up to 2 hours.)
Bake, uncovered, for 20 to 30 minutes, or until heated through. Garnish with green onions.
Serving quantity: Serves 8 to 10.
