1 stewing chicken (4 to 5 lbs.)
3 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. lard
2/3 cup warm water
Recipe
Cook chicken in boiling, salted water until tender. Remove chicken from broth; keep warm. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together into mixing bowl. Make well in center; cut in lard. Add water; mix well. Knead several times. Divide dough in half. Roll out each half thin; cut into squares. Pull each square thin. Drop into simmering broth, one at a time. Cook for about 20 minutes or until tender. Serve with chicken.
