David Letterman's Baked Chicken in A1

For the sauce: (8 cups)4 cups of butch barbecue sauce or your favorite BBQ sauce
1 cup of balsamic vinegar
1 1/4 cups of Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup of Dijon Mustard
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of black pepper
3/4 cup of canola or other mild flavored vegetable oil
3/4 cup of olive oil For the chicken:
6 chicken breast halves (bones in and skin on)
salt and pepper to taste
To make the sauce, combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and stir well. reserve 2 cups for the marinade and store the remainder in a covered container in the refrigerator. Put the chicken breasts in a shallow ovenproof dish large enough to hold the chicken in a single layer. Season lightly with salt and pepper and pour the 2 reserved cups of sauce over them. Cover the dish with foil and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour to marinate the chicken. About 20 minutes before you plan to cook the chicken, preheat the oven to 400�F. Put the baking dish, marinade and all, in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Turn the breasts over and bake for an additional 15 - 20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked. Makes 6 servings
Butch Cassidy Barbecue Sauce
Makes 5 cups
1/2 cup of canola or other mild flavored vegetable oil
1/4 cup of chopped garlic
3/4 cup of chopped yellow onion
1/2 cup of prepared horseradish
4 cups of tomato puree
1 cup of dark brown sugar
2 1/2 cups of water
3/4 cup of clover honey or any mild-flavored honey
1/4 cup of dark molasses
1/2 cup of tomato paste
1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar
1 cup of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup of Dijon mustard
1/4 cup of dried onion
1/4 cup of granulated garlic
1 tablespoon of medium grind black pepper
2 teaspoons of salt
1 bay leaf
3/4 cup of ketchup
Heat the oil in a heavy 4 quart saucepan over high heat. Add the chopped garlic, onion, and horseradish and cook for 1 minute. Add all of the other ingredients and bring to a boil. Turn the heat to medium and cook, uncovered for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently. Cool and remove the bay leaf.
