Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies

1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries, chopped
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Recipe
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg and set aside. In large bowl cream butter with brown sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time until combined. Add buttermilk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and blend well. Toss cranberries with 1/4 cup granulated sugar, then add to mixture with oats and walnuts.
Drop by tablespoonful onto greased or parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake at 375 for 12-14 minutes.
Makes about 4 dozen.
