    1 pound cranberries, washed
    1 cup water
    2 cups sugar
    1 cup whipping cream
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 cup dry bread crumbs

    Cook the cranberries, water and sugar until the berries pop and a
    thick sauce forms. Cool. Whip the cream with the vanilla. In a
    glass serving dish, layer the cranberry mixture, breadcrumbs and
    whipped cream. Repeat once. Cover the dish and refrigerate
    overnight before serving.
