Apple Chutney

List of Ingredients
• 2 c. white sugar
• 2 c. lt. brown sugar
• 1 c. cut up crystallized ginger
• 3 c. white vinegar
• 1 c. water
• ½ t. salt
• 1 t. powdered cloves
• 2 t. cinnamon
• 6 bay leaves
• ½ t. allspice
• 5 lbs. Granny Smith apples, peeled and cut into pieces (not too small)
• 1 green (bell) pepper, cut up
• 1 ½ c. raisins
Recipe
Mix everything (down to the apples) in a large pot and allow to simmer while you cut up the apples. Add the apples, green pepper, and raisins and simmer about 30 minutes.
Makes about 9- 12 oz. jars
