    Apple Cranberry Cheese Pie

    Crust
    3 cups flour
    1½ cups shortening
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 beaten egg
    2 tablespoons water
    1 tablespoon apple cider
    ½ teaspoon vanilla

    Mix flour to the shortening, add salt to crumble. Add beaten egg to the water, vinegar, and vanilla and mix. Makes 3 pie crusts.

    Cream Cheese Layer
    1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
    1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
    ¼ cup lemon juice

    Beat cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in condensed milk until smooth. Stir in lemon juice. Spread evenly over prepared crust. Makes enough for 2 pies.

    Cranberry Layer
    1 can whole berry cranberry sauce
    2 tablespoons cornstarch
    1 tablespoon brown sugar

    In small bowl combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in cranberry sauce. Put ½ of this mixture on top of cheese layer and reserve the rest. Top with 4 tablespoons flour and 4 tablespoons sugar mixed.

    Apple Filling
    8 apples
    ½ cup sugar
    4 tablespoons flour
    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    Mix flour and apples together first then add the rest of the ingredients. Then top cranberry mixture with apple filling.

    Crumbs
    ¼ cup flour
    1/8 cup sugar
    1 tablespoon Crisco shortening

    Mix till crumbly. Top apple filling with crumbs. Bake at 400o for 50 minutes. Top with 1 tablespoon granulated sugar and 1/8 cup chopped walnuts when pie is cooled.
