List of Ingredients
2/3 c. butter, melted-no substitutes
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. chopped red and green candied cherries
1/4 c. chopped blanched almonds
3 c. flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Recipe
In a mixing bowl, beat the sugars and butter. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Stir in fruit and almonds. Combine dry ingredients; add to the butter mixture.
Spread evenly into 2 foil lined 8x4x2 inch loaf pans. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Invert dough onto a cutting board; remove foil. Cut into 1/4 inch slices; place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Makes 5 dozen.
I formed my cookies into 2 inch wide logs on waxed paper. I like them smaller for cookie trays.
