Snowbound Baked Fudge

4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
4 heaping tablespoons cocoa powder
4 rounded tablespoons flour
1 cup pecans, broken into large pieces
2 teaspoons vanilla
whipped cream, for serving
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 325 F. Beat the eggs well, add the sugar and butter and beat well again. Sift the cocoa and flour together. Add broken pecan meats. Fold into butter mixture. Mix in vanilla. Pour into 9 x 12 x 13- inch Pyrex dish or tin pan. Set dish in a pan of hot water (enough to come 1/2 inch to 1 inch up on the sides of pan). Put the dish, still in the pan of hot water, into the oven. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. The fudge will have the consistency of firm custard and will be crusty on top. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream on each piece.
Serves 9 – 12.
